It is tough to find a traditional leather backcountry telemark and touring boot, but this year for the first time in years, we have a sturdy leather boot that is stiff enough to drive any of the wide no-wax skis we carry, and even a few of the waxable tele skis as well. The Descent has a beefy 3mm. Perwanger leather upper with a three dimension molded nylon insole, and 200 G Thinsulate. A Thermoplastic cuff adds lateral stiffness to the boot without impeding their comfort while touring. A ratchet Instep strap and durable rubber rand make this boot for the first time in many years a great choice for backcountry touring, all at a great price.
